CLDGME Presents :: @PHILSWISH in LAINE NOIR

it speaks volumes...

As I listened, I found myself even more inspired to begin my written documentation of our musical journey throughout the city. I haven't blogged in months, maybe its even been a full year. I've traveled, lived elsewhere, pursued higher education and spiritual growth. I have returned to fulfill my purpose (that's another story for another day)
I had been inspired to re-vamp my expression space weeks ago after I re-discovered Detroit's music scene at an open mic night at a popular Downtown venue, The Shelter. I started some creative brainstorming and gathering material but nothing got me to post. Until now.
It was a bit ironic. I was browsing through my email and found this submission marked "Do Not Release until April 15, 2013" whats today?
I took it as a sign. Listened and found myself re-discovering the very reason I began this blog in the first place.

LAINE NOIR incorporates my expressive space's very purpose; to bring together immaculate creative direction, complex lyrical & musical genius, and thought provoking visual asthetics.

This piece is an incredible example of crisp cohesion and the result of dedication to one's craft. Each artist involved receives my respect. It is the conception of passion by way of gifted souls. It is LAINE NOIR.

& it's true meaning hasn't even been revealed yet.
Stellar way to capture your audience and re-introduce your images.
My hat is off to you all.
Thank you for giving me an even greater way to re-introduce Lyrics & Couture.

Nocturnal - Checkin In [Visual + Audio] + The single "Checkin In"

The single "Checkin In" has catchy lyrics with metaphors like you have never heard. Nocturnal is famous for his metaphoric flow. "Checkin In" gives way for this along with its smooth hypnotic beat, just enough to get you two steppin and nodding along. Nocturnal incorporates the new wave of technology of Facebook and other sources such as Iphones or MP3 as a way of “hitting him up” appealing to the young and the average person while the drum/piano base beats keeps the attention of the older hip hop fan.
His lyrics invites the listener in, keeps them hanging on his every bar to see what he will connect next. It gives the listener a since that they are in the circle that Nocturnal is one of them and they can chill with him or simply “add him as a friend”.
This track exemplifies an artist that fits right in with the people, one that walks the streets in the community that you may just run into on any given day. Checkin In brings you back to the old feel of hip hop with a refreshing new twist. It’s a people track that the People will be sure to Love. --ISTILLLOVE H.E.R

Awon & Karmeleon Beats "Free" [Visual+Audio] "Concentration Gradient" The Album

The 17-track album has a noticeably darker feel than their previous release "Love Supersedes" yet it maintains their traditional jazzy soulful sound. The subject matter is very political and introspective in nature ranging from current events to spiritual matters. Having worked on the album for some time now the duo feel they have constructed a project that will hit a nerve with its listeners. Tracks like "Had Enough" and "They Coming" focus on the pressures and hardships of modern society while songs like "Heaven" take a more positive and forward-thinking stance.
The vintage hip hop sound is still the underlying force behind their music but this project is much more aggressive musically and lyrically. Awon's delivery is firmer and Kameleon ventures into newer territory sample-wise. The result is an album hip hop heads young and old can feel.
